*For the SoloFlex© and NordicFlex© a 1 minute rest between sets of exercise is suggested by the manufacturers. Rest time on The Body Beam® is considered "zero" because the exercises are performed in a circuit fashion that does not require a rest interval between sets.
Discussion
Although all 3 products provided strength-training exercises, that exercise all the major muscle groups, the Time Study results indicate that the time one spends adjusting the product is greater for the SoloFlex© and NordicFlex© when compared to The Body Beam®. The amount of time during a workout, which should be considered "non exercise time" (adjusting time and rest interval), is greater for the SoloFlex© and NordicFlex© when compared with The Body Beam®. The differences in the time required to make necessary adjustments prior to each exercise combined with the suggested rest intervals leads to differences in the total workout time and the amount of time required to complete the manufacturer's suggested workouts.
